Prinzhorn plans new line at Spremberg RDF power plant and acquires Italian recovered paper merchant

The Prinzhorn Group has announced several investments in its business in Western Europe together valued at €300m. The projects include the addition of a second power plant line at subsidiary Hamburger Containerboard's mill in Spremberg, Germany. Located in the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park, the power plant was originally commissioned in 2013. The majority of its infeed material is refuse-derived fuel (RDF) from external sources.

In addition, the Prinzhorn subsidiary Hamburger Recycling has signed a contract to take over the Italian company Euro-cart and its sister company Berica Recuperi. The group's Dunapack division has finalised the acquisition of corrugated packaging plant Scatoloficio La Veggia on 5 September.
