Refood commissions new biogas plant near Warsaw

Refood Poland, which is part of the Rethmann group via its parent company Saria, has officially opened a new food waste recovery plant in Mszczonów, around 50 kilometres southwest of Warsaw. The anaerobic digestion (AD) plant for food waste, which the company described as the most modern of its kind in Europe, was an important step in promoting sustainable waste processing and the generation of green energy, Refood said.

Polish media reports indicate that the new plant is roughly identical in design to Refood's biogas facility in Paderborn, Germany. The company believed the plant would initially process about 80 tonnes of waste daily....
