Remondis Electrorecycling GmbH is rebuilding and modernising its recycling facility for cooling and refrigeration appliances in Berlin, sourcing its new plant equipment from Andritz Mewa. The new facility is to become operational in the fourth quarter of the current year, Andritz explained.
Remondis processes around 35,000 tonnes of e-scrap per year at its Berlin facility. Its focuses at that site is on refrigerators of all sizes.
The central element of the plant equipment to be delivered by Andritz is a cross-flow shredder, which is to dismantle the components of the equipment quickly and efficiently. This would allow for improved material separation with reduced wear, said the equipment manufacturer.
