The British Shanks Group plc has landed a contract valued at €10m under which it will transport and treat waste management sludge for the Belgian public water management company Société Publique de Gestion de l'Eau (SPGE). The waste management company, is to collect and transport 40,000 tonnes of sludge per year from 16 waste water treatment plants in the Liege District to companies in Belgium and Germany for recovery.
Shanks already held a similar contract with SPGE to manage the sludge from one of its other sites. In addition to activities on its home market, the concern is active in the Benelux region and Canada.
