Following a sharp drop in the year 2009 due to the financial crisis, stainless steel recycler ELG was able in 2010 to again post strong growth in sales and results. Parent group Franz Haniel & Cie GmbH reported on Monday that increased prices and volumes raised ELG's annual turnover by 69 per cent to €2.62bn last year. The operating result more than doubled, from €40m in 2009 to €88m in 2010, while the pre-tax result improved from €30m to €70m.
