Swedish recycling concern Stena Metall inaugurated a new recycling facility for old refrigerators in Lauingen (Donau), Germany. Built with an investment of around €4 million, the new plant can process 350,000 to 360,000 old refrigerators annually, the company said. Stena already operates three other refrigerator recycling plants in Germany. With the commissioning of the new facility, the company now has an annual recycling capacity of 1.4-1.5m old refrigerators in Germany, according to Staffan Johansson, CEO of Stena Technoworld GmbH.
