The German waste management group Tönsmeier has parted ways with its subsidiaries in Lithuania, which employ over 200 people at seven sites across the country. The Tönsmeier companies, UAB Svarus Diena in Klaipeda, UAB Dzutra in Alytus, UAB Svarus Miestas in Vilnius and UAB Paslaugos in Sakiai, were acquired by the investment firm Avestis, the German group announced on Thursday. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction. "After eleven successful years in the Baltics, the group will now focus its Eastern European activities primarily on the Polish market," commented Jürgen Balg, spokesperson of the Tönsmeier management board.
