(D) – The contracts concluded for June have proved the forecasts made for this month accurate: The recovered paper price increase seen in Germany from March to April was retracted again. Industry insiders attributed this primarily to very good availability at the moment and high inventory levels at paper mills. “We are filled right up to the rafters”, said one major packaging paper manufacturer, adding “in some cases, we have already had to stop accepting recovered paper”. Ongoing sales problems were also reported due to machine downtimes at some paper mills.
