The British recovered paper market is described as "fragile” and "difficult to read". Both collection volumes and demand are very weak. In all paper industry segments – whether it be packaging, graphic paper or tissue – production capacity is being idled, and not only in the UK, but in Continental Europe and Asia as well. Yet, if recovered paper demand were to pick up again, the market would quickly be facing a supply shortage, experts told EUWID. This is causing uncertainty among market participants.
