The British recovered paper industry continues to face weak demand and low collection volumes as well as the ongoing shipping crisis in February. However, all the material is still moving: sales are brisk even though it is partly an uphill struggle, market participants told EUWID.

Prices for mixed paper and board (1.02) as well as old corrugated containers (1.05) have increased slightly in February compared to the month before. The price of Packaging Recovery Notes (PRN) and Packaging Export Recovery Notes (PERN), which each certify that a tonne of recovered paper or board packaging has been recycled or exported for recycling, have also risen slightly.
