Prices on the German recovered paper market remained at July levels in the first week of August. Even though arisings had declined given the summer holidays, the market was relatively balanced on the whole as several paper mills had idled their machines to carry out maintenance works to keep the market ticking over. Exports to the Far East are on the back burner, and prices have reportedly fallen €2-3 per tonne FAS compared with July.
