The European Commission has launched an open consultation on the EU's 7th Environment Action Programme (7EAP). At its focus are the priorities of future environment policy to be established in the next programme, which will cover the period up to 2020.
Among the issues stressed by the EU Commission in the consultation document were the need to better implement EU regulations on waste, the marine environment and conservation, and improve integration of environmental and climate change objectives in other policy areas. The consultation runs until 1 June and contributions are welcomed from stakeholders as well as from the general public.
