As part of its preparations for a targeted revision of the EU Waste Framework Directive (WFD) in 2023, the European Commission launched a public consultation last week. It is addressed to both "interested parties" and private citizens and will be open for feedback until 16 August 2022. The consultation focuses on the policy areas of waste prevention and separate collection, and specifically addresses the waste streams food waste, waste textiles and waste oil.
