Cronimet group has announced record sales for 2022. The stainless steel scrap and ferroalloys specialist generated revenues of €4.1bn last year, despite the major geopolitical challenges that marked the reporting period, according to a statement issued on Tuesday. The German company also exceeded the previous year's operating profit by approximately 10 per cent.

Cronimet recently became the first scrap supplier company to sign on to the "Inner Circle" initiative launched by stainless steel producer Outokumpu. By joining the initiative, Cronimet aims to intensify its long-term partnership with the Finnish company and to promote a sustainable and efficient circular economy in the stainless steel industry. The "Inner Circle" programme is intended to create a "visible closed loop" for stainless steel by connecting processors, recyclers and steel mills more directly, thereby rendering supply chains more transparent, faster and more efficient, Outokumpu said.
