Veolia’s CEO Antoine Frérot is pleased with the company’s performance in the first few months after its acquisition of large parts of its competitor, Suez, on 18 January. “The merger with Suez is progressing very well,” Mr Frérot said in comments he made at the release of his company’s first-quarter results last week.
Veolia had also already recorded synergies of €21m in the past quarter, in keeping with its expectations. The French environmental services concern plans to unlock synergy effects of €100m in 2022 as a whole, along with efficiency gains of €350m.
