Loop and SK forge joint venture for chemical recycling of PET in Asia

The Canadian company Loop Industries and the South Korean firm SK Geo Centric Co. Ltd. (SKGC) have finalised a joint venture for the chemical recycling of PET waste in Asia. In early May, the groups announced that they had inked a definitive joint venture agreement to deploy Loop’s technology in Asia through multiple commercial manufacturing facilities.

The two partners also recently announced plans to build a chemical recycling plant for PET waste with the French environmental services firm Suez. This new location is to be built in the Chemesis industrial park in Saint-Avold, Lorraine. Construction work is slated to commence in 2025, with commissioning slated for 2027....
