LyondellBasell buys 50 per cent stake in Dutch plastics recycler Stiphout Industries

Chemicals multi-national LyondellBasell has made another plastic recycling acquisition. The Rotterdam-based company said on Wednesday that it had purchased a 50 per cent stake in Stiphout Industries B.V., a Dutch company specialising in the sourcing and processing of post-consumer plastic packaging waste. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Stiphout Industries is based in Montfort, the Netherlands, close to the Dutch-German border and around 70 km west of Düsseldorf. The company operates a plastics recycling facility producing polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) flakes from plastic household waste. According to the investment announcement, the plant has a capacity that would enable it to process the plastic packaging waste generated by over 500,000 Dutch residents....
