Packaging group Alpla snaps up PET bottle recycler Texplast

Group expanding its foothold in Germany / Capacity to reach 75,000 tpy

The Austrian packaging group Alpla is acquiring the German PET recycler Texplast, making it one of Germany’s biggest recyclers of the resin. Along with buying Texplast, Alpla was purchasing all shares in the joint venture PET Recycling Team Wolfen from the Swiss firm Fromm Group, the companies announced in early March. The transaction comes on the heels of Alpla's October 2021 acquisition of BTB Recycling.

“Our goal is a closed loop from bottle to bottle. We are stepping up our activities worldwide to meet growing demand for post-consumer recyclate. This investment will strengthen our position in the German market and guarantee high quality and availability of the material for our customers,” said Alpla’s CEO, Philipp Lehner....
