Norwegian sorting technology supplier Tomra has introduced a new product capable of simultaneously sorting plastic flakes by colour, polymer and transparency. According to the company, its Innosort Flake machine uses a combination of sensor technology, including near-infrared (NIR) spectrometry, to distinguish various polymers, even from highly contaminated infeed materials.
