UK biogas company Biogen acquires five AD plants from Ingenious

Biogen, a British company specialising in the operation of anaerobic digestion (AD) plants, has purchased five additional facilities from the asset management company Ingenious Group. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. According to Biogen the deal brings the size of its AD fleet to 19 facilities. Two of the plants are located in Inverness, and the other three in Colchester, Northampton and Nottinghamshire.

The company's CEO, Ruby Jones said, "This acquisition is an attractive addition to the Biogen portfolio. The plants provide Biogen with further exposure to renewable gas to grid technology, increasing our role as a producer of renewable energy in the UK".

Biogen has belonged to funds managed by Ancala Partners since 2017. Since that time, the biogas plant operator had completed four acquisitions, among them the merger with Tamar Energy in 2018.
