With warm weather continuing in Germany, arisings of post-consumer single-use PET beverage bottles from deposit systems rose again sharply in July. Some PET recyclers in Germany secured initial markdowns when buying spot lots. Sourcing raw materials had been much easier in July since arisings were so good, recyclers said. They are now building up additional inventories. Some sources also mentioned larger markdowns for bottle bales whose quality was not quite as good.
