On the German waste textiles market, a "very gentle trend turnaround” appears to be happening. Until recently, original collected stock was scarce and sought-after, but respondents now say there are higher-than-expected volumes on the market. The overall picture has become more complex and "the market is at a tipping point”, commented one experienced market expert.
According to respondents, high prices are still being paid in municipal tenders for textiles bank sites even though the quality of the collected goods is declining, also due to the weak economy and the fact that quality is typically "poor anyway” during the summer holiday season.
