The European Commission has launched infringement proceedings against France in connection with its national rules governing waste sorting labelling. The member state mandates that household products belonging to an extended producer responsibility (EPR) scheme bear both the "Triman logo", and the "infotri", which provides information regarding the methods for sorting. The Brussels body sees in the requirement an unnecessary restriction in trade within the European single market....
