The collection targets for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) are being met by only a small number of countries in the EU. In an effort to improve collection rates, at least for small devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops, the European Commission made a series of recommendations last week. The Brussels body is also proposing the introduction of targets for preparation for reuse.
