England shipped roughly 724,000 tonnes of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) to Continental Europe in the first six months of this year. This figure was 77,000 tonnes or about 10 per cent less than during the same stretch last year, according to recently published statistics from the Environment Agency. At the same time, it is clear that the sharp downward trend in exports seen in 2019 and the first half of 2020 has ground to a halt: monthly English RDF exports levelled off, hovering around 120,000 tonnes in the first six months of 2022....
