Negotiating teams representing the European Parliament and the European Council reached a provisional agreement on changes to the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive in the second half of September. The forthcoming amendments aim at ensuring that consumers receive adequate information about the durability and repairability of products and that more robust EU measures can be taken to stop premature obsolescence.
