Collection volumes of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Europe continue to rise. According to figures recently published by the EU statistics authority Eurostat, an estimated 4.5 million tonnes of WEEE were collected separately in the 27 member states in 2019. This equates to around 10 kg of e-waste per EU resident. Compared to the previous year, collection volumes were up by around 13 per cent. However, most member states still have a long way to go to reach the EU’s ambitious collection targets....
