London waste-to-energy (wte) plant operator Cory has been awarded a new ten-year waste treatment contract by Thurrock Council. Under the new agreement, Cory is to process around 50,000 tonnes non-recyclable residual waste per year for the Council beginning in April 2024. After its initial term, the contract can be extended for a further five years, the waste management company said earlier this week. The Council has estimated the value of the contract at £70m (€82m) over the initial ten years....
