Derichebourg reports "record-high earnings” after consolidation of Ecore

After acquiring the ferrous and non-ferrous metals recycler Ecore approximately one year ago, the environmental division of the French group Derichebourg reported strong annual results on 7 December. Thanks to the consolidation of Ecore in group results as of 17 December 2021 and higher prices, Derichebourg achieved "record-high earnings” in its 2021/22 financial year ended 30 September.

he integration of Ecore was largely completed during the reporting period, proving once again the group’s ability to rapidly integrate new acquisitions, Derichebourg said.

However, the company had to fulfil the European Commission’s conditions to get approval to acquire its French rival. The competition watchdog ordered Derichebourg to divest four recycling sites with shredders and four collection yards. In June, the recycler agreed to sell these activities to the Italian steel producer Riva. The Commission gave the go-ahead for this transaction in November and the deal will close on 1 January 2023, Derichebourg now announced....
