Enfinium plans carbon capture facility at wte plant in North Wales

British waste to energy (wte) plant operator Enfinium is proposing a carbon capture (CCS) project at its Parc Adfer facility in North Wales. The CCS system would be designed to capture up to 235,000 tonnes of CO2 every year and would require an investment of around £200m (ca. €234m), according to an announcement issued on 11 April.

The CO2 captured from the wte plant's emissions is to be fed into a pipeline for sub-sea storage operated by the Hynet cluster. Hynet is one of two clusters assigned "track 1" prioritisation under the UK's CCUS deployment programme. The government aims for these networks to be operational by the middle of the decade....
