Tomra opens new demonstration facility for its sorting technology in Germany

The Norwegian company Tomra opened a second German demonstration facility for its sorting technology at its national headquarters in Mülheim-Kärlich at the start of the month. The new addition to the existing testing centre for waste and metal sorting applications at the same site was needed to meet growing demand for materials tests, the company said at the official opening of the facility on 2 March. With the second German testing centre, Tomra has eight facilities at seven locations where recyclers and plant operators can evaluate the processing of material from their own waste streams using Tomra's sorting technology before making an investment decision.

Both policy pressure and market prices for recyclable materials were named in Tomra's recent presentation of its financial results for 2022 as contributors to the "really good year" had by the company's Recycling division....
