New contracts drive revenue and earnings growth for FCC's waste management business

Spanish services group FCC reported increases in both revenues and earnings from its waste management activities in 2023. The Environment division, which houses the group's waste activities, boosted its revenues almost 6 per cent last year to €3.85bn due to new contracts in the US and Spain. This growth compensated for lower activity levels in the UK, the parent group explained in its 2023 earnings report issued at the end of last week.

Urbaser UK acquisition to close in second quarter

FCC Medio Ambiente had consolidated its presence on several regional markets last year, the parent group said in its financial report. In addition to the new contracts in the US and Spain, the company highlighted the acquisition of Urbaser's waste management business in the UK, which was announced in December.
