The Polish government filed a complaint with the EU Commission this summer in connection with illegal waste plastic shipments from Germany which had not yet been repatriated. An initial hearing was held on 20 September and the EU Commission now has until 26 October to issue a statement before Poland can take the case before the European Court of Justice.
On the day of the hearing, Environment Minister Anna Moskwa underlined Poland's determination to take the matter to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. "We will not allow the Polish taxpayer to pay even 1 zloty for German waste," Ms Moskwa said.
